Vernon Lee "Bo" Bourne Sr., 79, of Woodford passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at Retreat Hospital, Richmond.

Mr. Bourne was a member of Knights of Pythias 22 and a union carpenter for 42 years.

He is survived by his loving companion, Anita Alsop of Fredericksburg; five sons, Vernon Jr. of Stafford County, Arthur of Essex County, and L. Wayne, Terry and Henry Bourne of King George County; three sisters, Margie Shackleford, Charlotte Cooper and Edna Wilson; and his former wife, Geraldine Bourne of King George.

A memorial gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Virginia, Suite 200, 2120 L St. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20037; or a favorite charity.
