About Vimla Devi Dwivedi
Mrs Vimla Devi was born in 1920 to Mr Amar Nath Sharda and Maya Devi Sharda in Aiyapur, Tanda-Hoshiarpur, Punjab. She spent her early years with her maternal grandparents, Mr and Mrs Lakhanpal in Queta, presently in Pakistan. She was married to Mr Om Prakash Dwivedi in 1937 and soon after her marriage moved to Burma to live with extended family including Dr Dewan Chand, Dr Ganga Ram and Dr Balmik Dovedy. She returned to India during the second world war in 1942 along with the rest of her family whilst her husband, Mr Om Prakash Dwivedi, was left behind in Burma and presumed dead. He returned back to India in 1946 to everyone's surprise and these four years for Mrs Vimla devi was the hardest time of her life. She spent this time praying for the well-being of her husband whilst everyone else had lost hope. In her early married life, she dedicated her time to look after her in-laws and was considered to be an ideal daughter-in-law. She was blessed with her first son after 14 years of marriage. She dedicated her life to her family and was a strong devotee of Baba Mahesh Das, Darbar Pindoori Dham, Gurdaspur, Punjab. She passed away on the 12th December, 2005 in Jalandhar.
