VINA JANE BORING' WHITEHEAD

Vina Jane (Boring) Whitehead, age 97 of Tallassee, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Asbury Place Health Care Center. She was an active member of Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church for 87 years. Preceded in death by husband, Elder James A. (Jim) Whitehead; parents, Thomas H. (Boy) and Martha (Blevins) Boring; step-mother, Sally (Gourley) Boring; brothers, Clyde, Mark, Luke, Clay, Walter, Burley, and Charles Boring; sisters, Myrtice Beasley, Ina Mae Bryant, and Loretta Boring.

Survivors: sons and daughters-in-laws, Rev. Beecher and Janette Whitehead of Tallassee, Benny and Ann Whitehead of Maryville; grandchildren and spouses, Belinda and Mark Wilcox of Maryville, Pamela and Frank Daniel of Knoxville, Scott Whitehead of Knoxville, and Jennifer Whitehead of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Sacha Martin, Erica, Kayla, and Tessa Wilcox, Beecher and Katie Daniel; brother, Paul D. Boring of Dalton, Ga.; sister, Maggie (Mrs. Ernest) Hearon of Tallassee; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. Mrs. Whitehead will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
