About Virginia L Chung
Virginia's obituary:
HO, Virginia Chung
Thursday, January 17, 2008
Virginia Chung Ho 85, passed away peacefully at home in Berkeley on January 10, 2008. She grew up in San Francisco Chinatown, where she met her late husband, James Chung, whom she married during WWII. After the war they bought a house in Berkeley--the home in which she lived until her death. Widowed at too young an age, she raised four children by herself and lived to see each of them prosper and have children of their own. She later married John Ho and, until her passing, spent more than three decades in his loving company. She enjoyed hula dancing and had an excellent touch in cooking vegetables. Mentally acute until the day she died, while watching "Wheel of Fortune" on the television she would shout the answers in advance of the studio contestants. She leaves behind husband John; children, Russell, Robin (Jew), Randy, Robert, and David (Ho); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Following her wishes, her ashes will be scattered after a private Memorial. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Berkeley Chinese Cmty. Church Senior Ctr., 2117 Acton St., Berkeley, CA 94702.
