About Virginia Elizabeth Weaver

SMITHVILLE -- Virginia E. Krabill, 87, of Smithville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster, following a brief illness.

Virginia was born May 24, 1929, in Kinross, Iowa, to Amos and Elizabeth (ne Grove) Weaver. She graduated from Kinross High School, attended Eastern Mennonite University and then graduated from Goshen College in 1955 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.

She taught in parochial and public schools in Ohio, Indiana and Iowa. When she entered the Mennonite Voluntary Service unit in St. Anne, Illinois, in 1958, she taught kindergarten there. While there, she met Marvin Krabill, who was in the same unit. They were married Aug. 5, 1960, in Kinross, Iowa, and settled down in the Smithville area.

Virginia was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was loved by all who knew her. Her faithfulness in following Jesus was expressed as an active member of Smithville Mennonite Church and as a prayer warrior for her family and friends and the unsaved. In addition to her church, she also enjoyed serving and volunteering for Transport for Christ, Brenn-Field Nursing Center and MCC Connections in Kidron (as well as numerous other organizations throughout the years). She also knotted many comforters and sewed quilts for missions and others (always without charge). Although she loved dolls and had a collection, the satisfaction she got from her volunteer activities far superceded it.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Marvin, are sons, Randy (Kathy) Krabill of Kidron, Dale (Lottie) Krabill of Fairview Park, Gary (Eileen) Krabill of Mifflin, Pa., and Jon Krabill of Orrville; grandchildren, Brittany (Demetrious "J.W.") Reed, Hannah Krabill, Jonathan Krabill, David Krabill, Joshua (Allie) Krabill, Jessica (Tavis) Stauffer and Nicole Krabill; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, London, Zion and Asrael; and sisters, Esther Schrock of Glen Flora, Wis., Goldie Miller of Martinsburg, Pa., and Velma (Dean) Yoder of Warsaw, Mo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter Amy Joy Krabill and siblings Mary, Floyd, Melvin and Vernon.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Smithville Mennonite Church, 6097 Akron Road, Smithville.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Smithville Mennonite Church, with Pastor Todd Martin officiating and Gary Krabill bringing the message. Burial will be in Smithville Mennonite Church Cemetery before the service.

Auble Funeral Home in Orrville is handling the arrangements. Online registry and expressions of condolence may be made at www.aublefuneralhome.com.

Memorials may be made to Transport for Christ, P.O. Box 117, Marietta, Pennsylvania.
