Virginia de' Medici (May 29, 1568 – January 15, 1615) was a daughter of Cosimo I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany and Camilla Martelli.

Virginia was born on 29 May 1568, two years before her parents married. She was the only child of Cosimo I de' Medici, grand duke of Tuscany, and his second wife Camilla Martelli. In 1581 she had been promised in marriage to Francesco Sforza di Santa Fiora, but he changed his mind and renounced the world to accept the Cardinal's hat and privileges from the hands of Pope Gregory XIII. On 6 February 1586 Virginia married Caesare d'Este, duke of Modena, son of Alfonso d'Este, lord of Montecchio, and Giulia della Rovere. They had ten children of whom three sons and a daughter would have progeny. Virginia died on 15 January 1615; some said she was poisoned by her husband.

On February 6, 1586, she married Cesare d'Este, Duke of Modena and Reggio from 1597.

They had 10 children:

Giulia d'Este (1588–1645)

Alfonso III d'Este (1591–1644), Duke of Modena from 1628

Luigi d'Este (1593/1594–1664), Lord of Montecchio and Scandiano

Laura d'Este (1594–1630)

Caterina d'Este (1595–1618)

Ippolito d'Este (1599–1647)

Niccolo d'Este (1601–1640)

Borso d'Este (1605–1657), maternal grandfather of Victor Amadeus of Savoy, Prince of Carignan

Foresto d'Este (1606–1639/1640)

Angela Caterina d'Este (died 1651), a nun of the Catholic Church

In her later years, she suffered from insanity. She died in 1615, and was buried in Modena, at the Church of San Vincenzo
