Source:Morris, Gordon Alan. William Sabin and His Descendants, 1609 - 2000, p. 12: "The surname of Waitstill has not been discovered. Some have offered their opinion that it was Snow and that her parents were Nicholas and Constance (Hopkins) Snow, but this has been disproved and it is only mentioned to dissuade others from making the same mistake." [While this may very well be a true statement, it is too bad the proof is not detailed, since we are left just as much in the dark, as when we see sources that assert this positively without proof. Further, it is not intuitively clear how the author can say the Snow theory is disproved without knowing what Waitstill's actual maiden name is?]

Anything new in the last 8 years? I just keep referring people to the work of Caleb Johnson. He has the most stuff (documents, etc.) on the Hopkins family from the Mayflower than anyone lese currently on the internet. http://www.mayflowerhistory.com/Passengers/ConstanceHopkins.... and http://tinyurl.com/7jltvhs .

Joseph Sabin married Waitstill ("Hopestill, wrong" according to C.A. Torrey in his "New England Marriages Prior to 1700") in Rehoboth around 1674.[1] He does not identify Joseph's wife as being named "Snow". He gives her no last name at birth. Torrey also incorrectly indicates that after Joseph Sabin's death on 10 Aug. 1690, his widow married Jarrett Ingraham in 1692.
In fact, it was Joseph and Waitstill's daughter, Waitstill Sabin, born in 1676, who married Jarrett Ingraham in 1692 when she was 16 years old.
