Walter Dupré

Walter Dupre (1923) read Law at Downing College, Cambridge, and became a barrister. Admitted to Middle Temple 1926.

Called to the bar in 1931.

He was employed as a judge or magistrate in Cyprus (circa 1941-1947), Cape Town, and Edmonton (1956-1960).

Mr. W. H. E. Dupre , president, district court, was absent on vacation leave (121 davs). passage leave (28 days) and on leave with full salary on the ground of public interest (52 days) from 11th June to 23rd December, 1941

Mr. Walter Hans Ewald Dupre performed the duties of president of the district courts of Nicosia and Kyrenia, in addition to carrying out the duties of president of the district courts of Limassol and Panhos, from 6th January to 9th February, 1942.

Appointment under the Courts of Justice Laws, 1935 to 1943 in the name and on behalf of His Majesty the King and in virtue of the powers vested in the governor by the Courts of Justice Laws, 1935 to 1943, his Excellency the acting Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. Walter Hans Ewald Dupre to fill the office of a Judge of the Supreme Court, with effect from the 3rd February, 1947, for the hearing of Criminal appeal no. 1831.
