About Walter II van Voormezele
WALTER II.
1123/69 (Chron. Vormeselense, no. XIX, P. 38) - 1187, November (Copp.-
Stochove : Régestes Philippe, Annex no. 327, pp. 150-152).
He most probably married a sister of Eustace I of Grammene, since Walter III
of Voormezele calls Aaliz of Grammene his “matertera" (aunt on the mother's
side) and Ivan of Grammene his "avunculus" (uncle on the mother's side) (RA. Kortrijk, Merkem, charters, no. 9).
Brothers:
- Henry (Bull. Soc. Ant. Morinie, x (I897-190I), Pp. 256-257).
- Thierry (he is called "patruus" (paternal uncle) by Walter III of Voormezele (Bruges, Diocesan Archives, Voormezele, charters, provisional no. I7)).
Children (most probably) : Walter IM, Henry, John, Elizabeth, Adelide.
(Warlop, 1184)
