He married Norma Jansen (b. 8-3-1910) on 7-3-1934 in Oakland. They had 2 children: Marcia Clair, b. 9-23-1935 and Nancy Jane, b. 1-27-1938. Walter worked pt in war plants during WW II
Madera Tribune, Number 205, 27 February 1959 WALTER F. LAREW. Word has been received of the death of Walter Francis Larew, 49. in Oakland. A native of Madera, Mr. Larew has lived in the Bay Area for many years. He has been the tympanist with the San Francisco Municipal Symphony and the San Francisco Opera Co. and was a teacher of music in San Francisco State College. Surviving are one son, James; two daughters, Marsha and Nancy; and one grandchild, all Oakland: two aunts. Mis. Virginia Weber and Mrs. Christine Parkes, both Madera, and several cousins in Madera. Funeral services, which will be held in Madera, will be announced.
