Wayne Marshall Kairau

11-year-old Wayne Marshall Kairau was brutally beaten to death by his stepfather, Haramer-Jit Singh Sandhu, between 1 November 1993 and 11 September 1993. Sandhu burnt his body in a backyard incinerator. In 1994, police were informed that Wayne was missing. A review into that case in 1995 found CYPS should have acted sooner and "more authoritatively" to try and help Wayne.
