Francis Alley is believed to be one of the first Alleys into Virginia. He probably came in the 1630-1635 time period since His son Thomas, born about 1625, received enough education to write. The will of Thomas Snelling, in 1642-England, mentioned "my sister", Wealthian Alley, and her children by Francis Alley of Virginia.

Death of Francis and Wealthian in VA is an assumption, since there is no record of them leaving and going somewhere else.
