Drew-Whitehouse Wedding
On Wednesday morning, June 24th, Howard Drew and Miss Grace Whitehouse were united in marriage at the First Presbyterian Church of Portland by Rev. Boyd. Those present at the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Whitehouse, of Forest Grove, parents of the bride, Mrs. W.W. Wiley and Miss Lelia Drew, of Tillamook, sisters of the groom and several other relatives and friends.
That evening the newly weds left Portland for Tillamook coming as far as Lake Lytle, stopping at Outlook Inn. The next day they came to Tillamook and took dinner at the C. N. Drew home in company with relatives and friends after which they left for their summer home up the Trask River near the hatchery, which Dr. Drew has prepared for his bride, he having been engaged as the fire warden for that locality for this summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Drew are both well known here having been raised here. The bride is an accomplished young woman and has been a teacher in the public schools of Portland for some time. The groom is a state university graduate and for the past two years has been principal of the Athens public schools and is engaged for the coming year as principal of the Helix schools. They have many friends in Tillamook and throughout the state who wish for them a happy and prosperous wedded life.
