Willem Gerhardus Petrus Eybers (aka "Willie Omdraai") born Nov 1868, is the son of Petrus Johannes Jacobus who married Susara Margaretha van Zyl.

"Willie Omdraai" had a cousin born in the same year as he (Jul 1868) and carrying the same name ie Willem Gerhardus Petrus! His cousin's father, Francois Johannes Jacobus Eybers is Petrus' elder brother. Francois married Susara's sister, Anna Aletta Susanna van Zyl.

The two sister's each named one of their son's after their father, Willem Gerhardus Petrus van Zyl who died on 7 April 1856 at the early age of 32 years 8 months thus presenting genealogists with a real conundrum to sort out.

Willie "Omdraai" and his wife Anna Elizabeth raised their granddaughter, Helen Beatrice Benningfield (standing in Photo), on their farm, Omdraai, in Rietbron from the age of two (1922) to the age of 17 when Helen returned to her biological parents in Woodstock and Willie and Anna relocated to 5A Plain Street, Woodstock where they lived out their remaining years.
