Willem Swanepoel (1956 – 2013)

Brief overview:

Willem (57), was shot in the stomach when three attackers invaded his smallholding in Elandspruit on 18th August 2013. His wife heard his screams and rushed downstairs. The three perpetrators forced her back into the bedroom where they tied her up with cable ties and her husband’s shoe laces. She was hit in the face, while they demanded money and food. They then dragged Willem to the bathroom and left him there. He begged them to take what they wanted and leave. They continued assaulting Willem in the bathroom.

Willem's wife managed to free herself and radio for help. Willem died a few days later.
