About William Robert Amos
William Robert Amos, 51, of Warriormine, a fire boss at the Amonate Mine was killed Friday, December 27, 1927.
He lived at Warriormine for 27 years and was born May 3, 1906 at Brushfork, the son of Tom and Nancy Amos.
He is survived by his widow, Blanche Campbell Amos; seven sons, Clifton, Charles R., William C., Lewis F., Thomas, Jack and Kenneth; and four daughters, Priscilla, Sphar, Ann and Devonne; two grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Amos of West Graham, Va., and Quincy of Mourinci, Oh.; one sister, Mrs. Jack Farmer of Bluefield, Va.
He was preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Bonnie Tabor.
The body will be taken to the home today at 4 p.m. by the O. J. Douglas Mortuary of Welch.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Freewill Baptist Church at Warriormine.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
