"William and Charlotte lived in Coffee County Alabama at the start of the Civil war. William enlisted in 1862 at Elba in the 18th Alabama Regiment, Company A. He was wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga in September of 1863 and was transferred to hospital service until the close of the war."

"William died in 1889 and is buried in Sepulga Cemetery Evergreen Alabama in an unmarked grave."
