William E, Babcock Retired radio broadcaster William E. Babcock, 74, of Endicott, died unexpectedly at Friday, December 24, 1993, in St. Agnes Hospital, West Chester, He was born August in Chicago, a son of Jay and Mabell Babcock Babcock, and had lived in the Pittsburgh, Erie and Scranton areas and in Jamestown, N. Y., before moving to Endicott in 1973. Mr. Babcock graduated from high school in in 1937 and furthered his education in radio broadcasting in Pittsburgh. He was employed as a radio and television announcer in Western Pennsylvania and New York for more than 50 years and was an announcer for in Binghamton, his retirement in 1986. He was active with The Little Theatre in Pennsylvania and New York and was an avid golfer. Mr. Babcock attended the Church of Christ. On January he married Betty E. Bissett, formerly of New Freeport, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Condeelis and Mrs. David (Bonita) Jame, both of White Plains, and four grandchildren. and Alex Condeelis and Robert and Abigail Jame.
