About William Bullard, Sr.

  1. Event: Event 27 MAR 1705 Signed an agreement to maintain Bullard's Landing 7 8
  2. Note:

To Investigate:

On page 40 of 'The Burnap-Burnett Genealogy' it states that the William Bullard who was born to Isaac and Ann (Burnap) Bullard in 1673 died in 1676. On page 4 of 'Other Bullards: A Genealogy: Supplementary to Bullard and Allied Families' it states that this same William Bullard married Elizabeth Avery in 1697 and died in 1746.

This William was certainly the son of Isaac and Ann (Burnap) Bullard. Perhaps he had an elder brother William who died at around 3 years of age, or perhaps it is another William Bullard who died in 1676. If the former is true, then this William would have been born after the decease of his elder sibling William in 1676. There is no such birth on the Dedham records, and there is no death of a William Bullard in 1676. The death of Isaac Bullard, this William's father, is, of course, recorded in 1676. The death of William Bullard, the grandfather of this William is recorded in 1686.

I am uncertain where the information from 'The Burnap-Burnett Genealogy' originated, but it appears to be in error.
