"In the name of God, Amen, June 17, 1688: I William Cooke (or Kooke) of New York. I appoint for my sole and universall heir, my son Thomas Kook, procreated by my wife Sara Kook, deceased. 'Signed and sealed at the house of Dirck Janse Woertman within the jurisdiction of Brookland, in Kings County.'" Witnesses, Dirck Janse Woertman, Jan Vandewater.
