He served in the Army during World War II from a private in March 07 May 1941 to October 1945, mostly in the European theater of operations. He completed his service duty as a, TEC 5 with the U S Army.

Mr. Crawford moved to Tulelake after winning a homestead in 1947. He farmed and remained there until moving to Klamath Falls in 1993.

After retiring, he enjoyed travel, drawing cartoons, writing poetry, and listening to music.
