(I) William Davis, the immigrant ancestor, married, March 1, 1686, Mary, daughter of William Makepeace, of Freetown, Massachu setts, and wife, Ann (Johnson) Makepeace, granddaughter of Thomas Makepeace, of Bos ton, and wife, Mrs. Elizabeth (Mellows) Makepeace.

In 1697 WTilliam Davis was grand juryman.
