About William Winton Dunn
William Winton Dunn (1824-1902) served as a private in the Confederate Artillery. He enlisted March 29, 1862 at Tuscaloosa, Alabama in Fowler's (Phelan's) Battery, Alabama Light Artillery. He was discharged September1, 1862 with nephritis but reenlisted January 31, 1864 in Fowler's (Phelan's) Battery and served until the end of the war. William was the son of Winton Dunn and Mary Catherine Davis and grandson of Margaret Winton.
