W. E. Coates, 77, died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law, Ransom Lenard, in ward nine.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Ransom Lenard; four sons, Robert Coates, Hardy Coates, Garvie Coates, Camden, Ark., Bennett Coates, Prescott, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Ada Burch, Ruston; one brother, Simmie Coates, Bawcomville.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 5 o'clock from the residence of Ransom Lenard, with Rev. E. L. Tanner, of West Monroe, officiating. Interment will be made in the Fellowship church cemetery in Caldwell parish.
