Built the Goulburn Town Hall & the Cootamundra Railway Station, as well as additions to the Goulburn Court House in 1867, and the Australian Arms Hotel, where he was the licensee 1868-1873.

FUNERAL. THE Friends of the late WILLIAM ARTHUR EVANS Senior are respect- fully invited to attend his Funeral, which will move from his late resid- ence, Faithfull-street, THIS DAY (Saturday) at three o'clock. MR. W. A. EVANS, a very old resident of the district, died at his resid- ence, Faithfull-street, at about 9 o'clock on Thursday night. Mr. Evans, we are informed, came to Goulburn in the year 1834, and for some time was a contractor, the first job he undertook being the roofing of the building now known as the Goulburn Brewery. He afterwards built the structure now used as the Superior Public School, the Mechanics' Institute, the Cootamundra railway station, and other buildings and was one of the contractors for the erection of the Commercial Bank. Lately he had not followed any particular avocation. Deceased was sixty-nine years old.
