About William FitzMartin, Lord of Cemais
Baron William Fitzmartin, son of Robert Fitzmartin and Alice de Nonant, was born in 1135 in Dartingham, Devonshire England. Also known as "William fitz Robert FitzMartin."
"He held, as son of Robert son of Martin, 5 knight's fees, which had formerly been held by William son of Walter; but at the same time the Bishop of Bath returned Robert son of Martin as still tenant, implying William, Robert's heir, was still a minor in 1166.3 He granted a messuage and land in the manor of Blagdon to the canons of St. Augustine's between 1170 and 1183 in Bristol, Gloucesteshire, England.2 He occurs in the Pipe Rolls from 1176 to the time of King John." He married Angharad Griffydd (or Angaharad Verch Rhys - b. 1140/1150 in in Llandilo, Carmarthenshire, Wales) and had three children:

Baron William also held the title of Lord. He died in 1216.
Baron William FitzMartin (3), b-ca 1125 at Dartingham in Devon- shire, d-ca 1216. He lived during the reign of both Henry II and Richard I and was a man of considerable importance. He married Angharad Griffydd, d/o Rhys Ap Grifid (Griffydd) who was Prince of South Wales. Three children.
