The original headstone of William H. Harrison reads:
"Wm H Harrison
Born in VA June 16 1768
Moved from Bedford Co to KY
In an Early Day
Then on to MO in 1843
Died Jan 18 1848
In the 80th Yr of his age"
He was married to Winefred and his children included at least William H Harrison Jr, married to Judith (moved with family to California in the 1850's); Mary A Harrison Squires married to John ( moved with family to California in the 1850's); and Benjamin B Harrison married to Elizabeth Adkins Harrison (moved with family to Arkansas in the 1870's). Although no researcher has positively identified William's father, the Harrison DNA Project links William most closely to the Andrew Harrison of Virginia family. There is no documentation which shows the father of Wm Harrison to be Capt. Henry Harrison. This was not inscribed on the original headstone. Some of the information attributed to Wm's children in this memorial is suspect. Two of the "children" pinned to Wm. and Winefred are probably not their children, Paris and John. Paris would have been too young to be a child of Winefred, and John would have been conceived prior to the marriage of Wm. and Winefred. And Wm. would not have step-children born after his marriage to Winefred.
To dispute the Bio on Find-a-Grave, their child Paris was born in 1811 (per the 1850 Census, assuming this is the correct Paris Harrison). If so, Paris would be 1 year older that his brother Benjamin. Not 'too young'.
