Cranbrook (or Cranbrooke) was the center of the clothing trade (http://www.british-history.ac.uk/survey-kent/vol7/pp90-113) and the manufacture of cloth, especially a fine woolen cloth. William was a draper by occupation (a person who sells cloth and dry goods), according to Anne's baptism record of July 27.
