!DEATH: St. Uny Lelant, Cornwall, Bishop's Transcripts, LDS film #90272.
!MARRIAGE2: Will of William Hawes (see below). Refers to "my trusty and well beloved brother-in-law, George Kelway."
Lelant Bishop's Transcripts, Cornish Studies Library, Redruth, shows the marraige of William Hawies to Ann Kelway, but is undated. However, there are nine burials on the same page and five of those persons (John Cocke, John Morrack, Francis Hampton, John Jacka and Mary Warren) can be identified on the 1664 Hearth Tax for Lelant, so the marriage must have been after that date, and therefore a second marriage. The handwriting on the page is identical to that of the 1672/3 and 1674 return.
!WILL: Archdeaconry of Cornwall, Wills, LDS film #1566001, AP/H/2105, William Hawes. Written 6 Nov. 1683. Proved 21 May 1684. Names son William, daughter Elizabeth Penberthy, daughter Jane Penberthy, brother-in-law, George Kelway. Incidental mention of Lewis Penberthy, who was apparently farming farming William's land; this is assumed to be one of the sons-in-law, as the marriage of Lewis Penberthy to Elizabeth ____ is found at Lelant. Land: "Parc an Venton, being part of the tenement of Vorvas."
