William Charles Rotro Hedding

William Rotro Hedding, the founder of the Sandton Historical Association, died on the 18 December 1991. Hedding - known to his friends as 'Bill' and to his family as 'Rotro', an old family name with Norman connections - was born in Parkview on 20 October 1912. He was the eldest of four children and grew up in a warm, caring family environment which shaped his character and endeared him to many people in all walks of life.
