William Jarvis the younger, the eldest son of William and Sarah (nee Pyers) Jarvis married Louisa Sophia Kent< in, St. Mary's church at Gretna on 18th March 1852.
Louisa was born in Hobart on 13th September 1833. her parents were John Kent and Mary Ann Gunyon. .
John was born in Marylebone, London circa 1809. He was transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) aboard the Roslyn Castle
Mary Ann Gunyon was transported with her mother Sophia and arrived in Hobart aboard the "Mermaid" in 1828.
William and Louisa leased the Tea Tree property "Brandon" from William's father until his death. William the younger inherited "Brandon" as detailed in his father's will. It was on this property that their family was raised.
William and Louisa Jarvis had nine children:
William Daniel was born 6th November 1855 at Tea Tree, and died 1st March 1914, he did not marry.
Sarah Louisa was born 2nd November 1857 at Tea Tree, she married William Charles Smith (born circa 1862, died 11th September 1849 at Sorell Creek) Sarah died 18th December 1944.
Thomas David,born at Tea Tree on 12th April 1860, married Afhild Wyndham Fleming (daughter of Richard Fleming and Eliza Barwick) Afhild was born 6th July 1864 in New Zealand and died 3rd March 1943 at Back River, Thomas died 3rd December 1940 at Back River.
Alfred Charles was born 15th August 1862 at Tea Tree and died of pneumonia at home on 24th June 1891. Alfred did not marry.
George Edwin was born at Tea Tree 18th June 1867and died of diphtheria in the General Hospital in Hobart 19th April 1877. Louisa, his mother, signed his death certificate.
Henry Arthur, was born at Tea Tree circa 1869, he married Alice Jane Brown, born 10th January 1871, daughter of James Robinson Brown and Sarah Jane Childs on 23rd October 1893 in Brighton.
Charles Allen was born at Tea Tree on 5th December 1870 he married Edith Emily Childs, born 14th April 1874 to Henry Thomas Childs and Isabella Nicholls, Charles died 13th June 1937.
Ruth Mary born at Tea Tree 10th July 1873, married 30th April 1902, James Albert Brown, born 15th August 1868, son of James Robinson Brown and Sarah Jane Childs, Ruth died circa 1937. ruth and James had only one child Esma Isobel Brown, born 2nd February 1902 at Tea Tree, died 12th May 1998 at Ouse, Esma did not marry.
Louisa Phoebe born 7th February 1876 at Tea Tree, married 30th Aptil 1902 at Brighton, Walter Henry Brown, born 21st December 1869, son of James Robinson Brown and Sarah Jane Childs. Louisa died circa 1905
William the younger died of heart disease on the 13th February 1904, his wife inherited all his property. William was buried in St. Luke's cemetery at Richmond.
Louisa Sophia Jarvis (nee Kent) died of bronchitis and cardiac dilation on the 9th November 1905. The property "Brandon" was left to two of her surviving sons, William Daniel and Charles Allen. These two sons also inherited all their mother's ".,...watches, jewels, trinkets, personal ornaments, furniture..........plated goods, linen, glass ....... harness saddlery, stable furniture, garden tools, implements and farming stock". the remainder of her property was to be sold and the proceeds divided between her daughters, Sarah, Ruth and Louisa.
Louisa Sophia Jarvis was buried with her husband in St. Luke's cemetery at Richmond. William and Louisa do not have a headstone.
