About William Martin, 6th Baron Martin of Cemais

William (Martin), Lord Martin, 2nd but 1st surv. s. and h.,(a) aged 30 at his father's death, had livery of his lands 11 Nov. 1324.(b) He was sum. to a Council to be held 3 Mar. 1324/5, and to Parl. by writs of 6 May and 10 Oct. 1325. In Mar. 1325 he was sum. for service in Guienne.(c) He m. Margaret, da. of John de Hastinges [lord Hastinges], by his 2nd wife, Isabel, da. of Hugh (le Despenser), Earl of Win chester.(d) He d. s.p., before 4 Apr. 1326.(e) His widow m,, before 1 June 1326, Robert de Wateville, and her dower was assigned in June and Aug. 1326, when the purparties of the heirs were also set out.(f) She d. 7 July 1359. The Barony of Kemeys was claimed in the time of Hen. VIII by William Owen as heir (by a da.) of Nicholas s. of Martin (d. 1282) '(Camden, Brit., vol. ii, p. 34).
