About William Morrow
Believed to have come out of Old Orange Co. NC where he signed a petition, along with his brothers, requesting a new county to be formed. He then migrated to Newberry, SC ca1772, then to Buncombe Co, NC. He can be positively be confirmed in Buncombe County, NC ca 1797, settling on Hooper's Creek. Bought land there in 1798 and sold it in 1807. He owned several tracts of land on Cane Creek and Hoopers Creek. Adjoining families (per land deeds) are John Morrow (son), David Morrow (younger son), David Jay, Benjamin Merrill, Samuel Murray, He migrated out of the county ca 1807, when he sold all of his tracts of land in a few day period. John Morrow traveled with him, David Morrow stayed.
William’s daughter, Anna, was married in Barren Co, KY in 1808. He moved on to Warren Co, TN about 1812. His son David followed to Warren Co. TN about 1818. William Morrow died in Warren Co. TN in probably late 1828. His daughters Rachel, Rebecca, Lydia, Sarah, and Ann, along with son David are mentioned in the estate sale records.
From Warren Co. TN deed records, it appears his wife was named 'Polly'(Mary?). He is also assumed to have had a son named John Morrow(ca 1775) based on deed records in Buncombe Co. NC, migration patterns and TN tax records.
