William Benjamin Murdoch, Jr.

When his father died a few days short of his 14th birthday, he became the man of the house. He went on to finish high school and put himself through college. He was employed in banking during his entire career, and was an NCO in the Pennsylvania National Guard rising to SSgt. He married Elizabeth Barnett Schwartz in September 1964. (They had lived a few houses apart on Valley Green Road in Flourtown, Pa an had gone to the same school.) He suffered with cancer of the spleen in 2007 and had it surgically removed, however a complication of the surgery hastened his death in July of that year. Bill was a graduate of Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, Plymouth Meeting, Pa., Class of 1960
