About William Young Neely

Son of Zachary Taylor Neely and Mary Lee Jackson; husband of Gladys Eubank; father of William Young, Jr., George Eugene, Gladys Pauline, Felix Jackson, Joseph Taylor and Robert Gale. Born, raised and died in Goodlettsville, Sumner County, Tennessee; Served in Europe during World War I, was a farmer and insurance agent for the Hartford Company. He and his brother Geoorge E. went West, he as a lineman in Colorado, when much of the Jackson family ventured westward, but he returned home to Tennessee and remained. He loved trains, tennis and swimming. Retired from raising sheep and farming and lived on the home place in Goodlettsville, in south west Sumner County, where he died. - Karen Neely Mullins, grand-daughter.
