About William Newsham, of Lancashire
Not the same as William Newsom, I of James City
This WILLIAM Newsham Junior and his brothers Robert, Richard and John were taken to the Preston Guild in 1642 by their father William Newsham Senior and the head of the family Richard Newsham young William's Uncle, also with them that day was Thomas Newsham the son of Thomas Newsham deceased. At this time 1642 they all lived at Preese Hall in the village of Preese near Kirkham Lancashire. They were tenants of Preese Hall and 2 years later when it sold for £550 they moved on and so at the next Preston Guild in 1662 this family of Newsham's then lived at Forton a Village inbetween the Lancashire city of Lancaster and the town of Garstang. This time at the 1662 Guild the family consisted of a Richard Newsham and the sons of the now deseased William Newsham Senior, brothers Robert, Richard, WILLIAM, John and George. ------- See Sources for a recorded list of Newson (Newsham) family at Preston Guild in 1662 with a few other of the Gentleman that were there with them.
