William Henry Nickles

Once, in camp, accidentally shot his brother-in-law Peter Minick in the thigh while cleaning his service revolver, which he thought empty. The revolver remains in the family, with Glen Minick of PA.

Was at the siege and Battle of Petersburg, VA.

At the time of his death, was a private in Company "D", 207th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Volunteers. Died after 6 days in the hospital with fever, admitted May 10, 1865.
