About William Nott
Old settlers and others will regret to hear of the death of Mr. William Nott, of Ivy Bank. Tawa Flat. Mr. Nott arrived in Wellington by tho ship Birman in the year 1842, and shortly afterwards took to farming in the Porirua district, where he his remained over since. He was a member of the Wasleyan Church, and always took an native part in religious matters j was one of the founders of the Wesleyan Church in Johnsonville, and Superintendent of the Sunday School there from its opening until a few years ago, when ho had to relinquish tho office very reluctantly through failing health. Ho died at the ripe old age of 79 years, honored and respected by all who knew him, and leaves a widow, two sons, and three daughters, all in comfortable circumstances.
