William Packenham

William Packenham was born on 7 August 1826 in New Brompton, Kent, England. He was the son of William Packenham and Ann Blake. He married Ann Elizabeth Daines in 1848 in Medway, Kent, England. His wife Ann died on 1849 in Medway, Kent, England.3,4 He married Sarah Greathead, daughter of Joseph James Greathead and Sarah Dunstall, on 16 May 1853 in Northfleet, Strood, Kent, England.

He was a shipwright, builder and contractor. It is believed William and Sarah emigrated to Australia in 1855 with their young daughter Sarah.6 He died on 23 October 1907 in Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia, aged 81. He was buried on 24 October 1907 in Methodist Cemetery, Boweneels, Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia.1
