<p>[Philpot1.FTW]</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>He was fatherless at the age of 13 and was bound to Benjamin Philpott until he arrived at the age of 21. During this time Benjamin was to teach him "to read well, to write a legible hand and to learn arithmetic" and when he bcame 21 years of age he was to receive a "descent suit of apparel".</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>He moved from Charles Co. to Frederick Co., Maryland and settled on Bennett's Creek near the foot of Sugar Loaf Mountain. His property was destroyed by the British soldiers during the Revolutionary War. It is believed he died during this war.</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>His wife and all the living children moved to North Carolina and then to Barren County, Kentucky. One son, John, moved to South Carolina.</p><p><p></p></p><p>Died at Sugar Loaf Mtn, Frederick Co., MD</p>
