W. P. Wlliams, 73, Dies of Paralysis
William P. Williams, 73, retired tobacco grower, died at 12:5 p.m. Monday in his home on rural route 5 Decatur. About three years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered. A second stroke occurred Monday morning shortly before his death.
Mr. Williams was born in Dover, Tenn., on Feb. 17, 1881. Most of his life was passed in Tennessee, where he was for many years engaged as a tobacco grower. He moved to Decatur about two years ago. He was a member of the Church of God.
He leaves eight children; Mrs. Lucy Knott, Benjamin, Wallace, Racie, Delmus and Marlin Williams, all of Decatur; John Williams of Kansas City, Mo., and Arlin Williams of Dover, Tenn. He also leaves 3 grandchildren.
The body was taken to the J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The Decatur Herald, Decatur, Illinois, 6 Mar 1934.
I could not find anything on three of his children - Delmus Lee Williams (supposed to be buried in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL), Martin Williams, or John D. Williams. (Find A Grave contributor Steve McAnelly)
