About William Ashbury Alston Roach
Served in the CSA in the Civil War with Hoods' Texas Brigade. Was wounded in the Battles of Chickamauga and the Wilderness, but survived, to see Lee surrender at Appomattox.
After the war, he returned to Texas to farm, and meet the 3 year old daughter he had never seen, Willie Eugenia.
