About William Waller of Normacott Grange
Roderick Waller Oct 30, 2018 Hi Terry. Thanks for the note. I haven't attempted to draw up a tree. The best I can do right now is list some names going back two or three generations. My mothers maiden name was Perkins. Her father's mother was a King My mother's mother was a McDonald. Not sure of the spelling. My father's mother was a Carroll and her mother was a Hulme.
A name that interests me due to an intriguing family story is Major General George Bishop of the East India Company. He's a great or great great grandfather of mine. I have the details but not to hand at the moment. I wonder if any of this connects with you. Kind regards, Rod.
Terry Jackson formerly Rand Oct 30, 2018 at 2:47 pm Hi Rod So, I don't recognise the other names you mention but perhaps that means our link is through Wallers which appear in both my parents lines although most strongly in my fathers. My 5th Great Grandparents were William Waller and Hannah (nee n/k). They had sons Richard and William. William and his wife Frances nee Barker were my 4th gt grandparents. They had children: James Waller; William Waller; Hannah Waller; John Waller; Ralph Waller; and Elizabeth Egerton (Waller). My3xgt grandparents were Elizabeth & Thomas Egerton. William Waller snr had the epiphet 'Gentleman' and the Egertons May have been part of the family linked with Tatton Hall in Cheshire although not confirmed. The family hailed from Caverswall in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire but Elizabeth & Thomas ended their days in Ontario. Mary Elizabeth Egerton m Daniel Thomas Ker and on down to my father and then me.
I think the links on my mothers side are all side lines - i.e. not blood related. There are lots of Wallers on Geni - might be worth you googling.
Look forward to hearing more. Terry
Roderick Waller Oct 31, 2018 at 2:03 am Hi Terry. I suspect that our link might be through William and Hannah Waller. I think 'Hannah' was one of the daughters of the George 'Bishop mentioned above. They were in India where records can be difficult as you may have found. I'll do some research and get back to you. Kind regards,
