William Wheeler Williams was the sixth son of Eunice Wheeler and Joseph Williams (buried at Meeting House Hill Cemetery VT). With his wife and children he was one of the first settlers of Connecticut's Western Reserve in Ohio. In 1799 he built a grist and sawmill in Newburgh Township (an early name for this part of Cleveland). He married Ruth Granger in Suffield CT in 1787 and their children were Frederick Granger, William Wheeler Jr. (Harvard Grove Plot 76), Joseph (Harvard Grove Plot 76), Martha (Peet) Erie Street Cemetery, Cleveland, Mary 'Polly' (Cahoon), and 3 children who died young.

Inscription: WILLIAM W WILLIAMS / BORN APR 25, 1760 / DIED SEP 5, 1831 / IN HIS 72ND YR LDS "Pioneers" plaque added to this and adjacent wife's stone in 1997 for being parents of early Mormon Frederick Granger Williams. All of the Williams family in Plot 76 were moved from nearby Axtel Cemetery when it was abandoned in 1881.
