About William Bennett Wood
William was the son of Alfred Albert wood, Tennessee, 1817-1847, and Malinda Baker Wood Brigggs, Arkansas, 1812-1852, who were married June 15, 1841, in Sangamon County, Illinois. William Wood married Mary E. Miller on February 27, 1862, in Montgomery County, Illinois. She is the mother of Julia Ann Wood. Mary died June 11, 1864. William then married Hila Ann Rogers on March 15, 1866, in Montgomery County. They had at least four children, Nancy M., born May 4, 1867, Alfred Benjamin, born October 13, 1869, William Edgar born February 24, 1871, and Nellie Estella, born February 10, 1876. William died June 19, 1921, in Waggoner, Montgomery County, Illinois, and was buried in the Providence Cemetery there.
