William 'of Old Cheraw' & Lucy Sweat were the parents of several documented children: John Sweat(1754), William Sweat(1755), Nathaniel Sweat(1760), James Theopolis Sweat(14 Nov 1764), Allen Sweat(1765) & Thomas Jefferson Sweat(1768).
Their 2nd son, William Sweat, was born at Hunt's Bluff, Cheraw District, SC. He died betw. 1800-1855 in St. Peter's District, Beaufort, SC, and is referred to as William 'of St. Peters'. He was married circa 1775, but the name of his wife is currently unknown.
But William 'of St. Peters' Sweat is the father of Benjamin Sweatt & at least 3 other sons. In order of birth they were: William Sweatt (1777), Benjamin Sweatt (1786), Meredith Sweatt (1790) & Ephraim Sweatt (1795). All of William 'of St. Peters' sons were born in St. Peter's District, Beaufort, SC.
William Sweatt died in 1855 in GA. Meredith Sweatt's date of death is currently unknown, as is Ephraim Sweatt's death date.
