BILLY SHEPHERD 1938 - March 24, 2013

MR. WILLIE P. “BILLY” SHEPHERD, age 75, of Eastman, GA, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Dodge County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Tuesday, March 26, at Southerland Funeral Chapel, with Bishop Randy Thompson officiating, with interment in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Shepherd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cochran, a retired textile worker with Reeves Brothers and worked in construction for over 40 years. He was son of the late Willie Emma Moore Shepherd & Gordon Paul Shepherd and widower of Dora Lee Edge Shepherd. He was preceded in death by a Son – Craig D. Shepherd and 4 Siblings – Wilmer Shepherd, Myrtice Nelson, James Harvey Shepherd and Jimmy George Shepherd.

Survivors: Granddaughter – Cathy Lynne Souza (Scott) of Eastman; Great-Granddaughter – Summer Lynne Souza of Eastman; 2 Step-Sons – Danny M. Edge (Deborah) and John Eric Edge both of Eastman; Daughter-in-Law – Michelle Shepherd of Eastman; 3 Step-Grandchildren – Corrin Longsworth (David) of McDonough, Cari Beasley (Bobby) of Cadwell and Kyle Alex Edge of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 7 Step-Great-Grandchildren – Hillary, Madison, Jacob, Chase, Hunter, Blake and Clay; 2 Brothers – Edward Eugene Shepherd (Elizabeth) of Macon and Robert “Cotton” Shepherd of Eastman; Several Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

The family may be contacted at the Danny Edge residence, 1425 Cochran Hwy, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 6:00PM-8:00PM Monday, March 25.
