Willine Meadows Gunderson

Willine Meadows Gunderson, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on July 4, 2016. She was born on March 5, 1927 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Lillie Barnett and Dr. William M. Meadows. She attended the University of Texas in Austin then began her long career of 40 years at First National Bank of Dallas. She will be forever missed by her family and friends. Her kind, loving spirit and wonderful sense of humor will live on and be treasured by those of us who loved her so much. She was raised in the Baptist faith - teaching both Sunday School and Youth Choir. Later she joined the Four Mile Lutheran Church to be closer to her beloved Gunderson family. Willine was preceded in death by her parents, 3 siblings, her children, Brenda Kaye Gunderson and Eddie Charles (Sonny) Gunderson, her grandsons, Michael Douglass Elkins, Jr. and Dylan Chas Gunderson. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Micki) Rawlings and son-in-law Michael Rawlings, granddaughters Torrye-Laine Vineyard, Michelle Rawlings and Sonnie McNair (Blake), grandsons Lance Edward Gunderson, Christiaan Matthew Elkins and Gunnar Scott Rawlings, great-grandsons Jacob Elkins, Gunderson Elkins, Dalton Danley, Dalton Duncan and Braeden McNair and great-granddaughters Amanda Elkins, Destri Laine Danley and great-great-granddaughters Emma Hope and Maila Ann Elkins. The family gratefully acknowledges her wonderful caregiver Kay Lovil, the VNA Hospice team, and the special love of Chuya Retana and Epi Arellano. A private family service will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 1pm at the Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with the Rev. Jan Castleberry officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6 from 5:30-7:30pm. Burial will be in Four Mile Lutheran Cemetery, Prairieville, Texas.
