I have never checked in regard to Bibles on-line.

The one I have is one handed down for over 200 years.

James Thomas Walker got it from Reuben WIllis Walker and then eventually my grandfather Henry Walker had it for over 50 years and then my mother (Agnes Walker) had it and when she died in 1987 my older sister took it, although I had gleaned infomration from it in 1973 when I wrote the Walker History.

My sister died in 1993 and so have detailed every inscription for reference.

It is in here that I know some details/dates not available in Annie Walker Burns Walker History.

Reuben some places is listed as dying young...but the truth of the matter is that he had an argument and went south to South Carolina to head up a plantation owned by his wife's late husband's family. She was a Randolph marriage to a Lewis and both her family and her late husband had large acreage in South Carolina.

James Thomas Walker was born in S.C. and then as quickly as he could leave as a young man---he did. Reuben apparently was quite tempermental.

JT took with him the Walker family Bible of which his father had taken from Castle Hill. He also took with him Mildred's cloth bound diary. She had a real spirit and used his hospitality to detained the British while the others left to gather numbers and safety during the Revolution. Reuben had quite a spirit too apparently...but JT wrote that he disapproved of the way Reuben handled the slaves in SC and he left pronto!
