Thompson, age 74, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Thompson was born May 11, 1935. She was a restaurant owner. Mrs. Thompson is survived by three sons, Billy Thompson, Bobby Thompson and wife Aletta and Bradford Thompson all of Jamestown; three daughters, Betty Hayes and husband Wade of Jamestown, Juanita Hatfield and husband Gene of Oneida and Debbie Byrd of Edmond, OK; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Billy Geer of Muncie, IN, David Geer of New Haven,?TN, Douglas Geer, Johnny Geer and Phillip Geer all of Jamestown; and sister, Carolyn Geer. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by father, Thomas Powell Geer; mother, Maudie (Davis) Geer; son, Luther Glen Thompson; two brothers, Paul Geer and JV Geer; and sister, Peggy (Geer) Beaty. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Sammie Dunford officiating. Burial followed in the Sharp Place Cemetery. Pallbearers included Ronnie Terry, Ronnie Peters, Ronnie Geer, Donnie Geer, Scott Buck and Kyle Cooper. Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services. Wilma married Luther Thompson son of Henry Thompson and Frona Smith. Luther was born on 10 May 1924 in Oneida, Scott, Tennessee. He died on 11 Nov 1998 in Jamestown, Fentress, Tennessee. He was buried on 14 Nov 1998 in Black Oak Cemetery, , Scott, Tennessee. Obituary in Fentress Courier 18 Nov 1998 page 22. Veteran of WWII. Pallbearers included Anthony Boyatt, Bobby Thompson, Glen Boyatt, Bill Cook, William Stanley and Harold "Smokey" Byrd.
